50-OVER-50 PORTRAIT PROJECT

As some of you may know, I announced and launched a portrait project in February of this past year. My goal was (is) to photography 50 women over the age of 50, to not only offer them an empowering experience as a collective, but also to inspire our community with strong mentors willing to share their thoughts on aging and life.

To say that I am overwhelmed at not only the feedback I have received from women about the project, but also the impact this has been on me personally is an understatement. Each and every one of these women, through their vulnerability to be photographed by themselves, and conversations had throughout the process has been inspiring.

Within a couple of weeks, 14 women had signed up and were all scheduled to be photographed prior to the end of June. However, a global pandemic kind of changed our plans. I was lucky enough to be able to have 8 of them visit the studio for their sessions and wanted to share just a few with you today to have a peek at the direction of the project.

My hope is, that once all 50 women have been photographed, I am able to host an in person event where the collective of all 50 portraits are on display, and we are gathered together to celebrate each other.

In the meantime, take the time to notice those around you that inspire and uplift you. Tell them, let them know the difference they have had on you and your life.
