Last fall I met this lovely family at Sunnybrook Farm here in Red Deer. One of my favorite locations mixed in with some pretty light and a happy family.
It was a good good time.
Yes, I am still posting sessions from last fall.
And yes. This was one of the families I was so lucky to have photographed.
And yes. I love my job.
And P.S.. We had cloudy skies, rain, and then a beautiful sunset. So we just rolled with it... Ending up with images from the field behind their home, the garage, inside the house and then at the beach. My favorite kind of session.
Last fall I spent a super fun evening with this little family.
And what I love best is I was reminded that a few simply things, like making sundae's together and running through parking lots can be pretty magical. It just depends what you choose to see.
On another note I noticed my last post was valentines day?!?! Hopefully back to a little more regular scheduled programming.
You know how sometimes what you hope for actually happens? When certain things you have always wanted to do actually fall into place?
Over the past few months of client sessions, I have had more and more families willing and wanting to incorporate part of their sessions into their homes. I feel like there is a real shift in understanding the value of what building a
house home means and I am thankful to all of my clients who appreciate this along with me.
Next time you are thinking of a session, try not to be limited to the pretty leaves or brick walls. As lovely as that is, ask yourself who your family is and how we can capture that the best.
We have played games, read books, ran through garages and cuddled our dogs. What more could we ask for?
Back in May. When he turned 8.
A recent post by an amazing photographer and person Jen Bebb came to mind as I was collecting these photos for a little mother's day post.
Because, this is what I am passionate about. Not necessarily making a pretty picture (which is sometimes an added bonus ;)), but rather an important picture. One that does tell a story. And in the case of these, the incredible story of a mama's love.
Wishing each and every one of you mom's a day filled with love, laughter and perhaps a little chocolate.
